LECTUREs
(One hour In-Person)
Applique is Not a Four-Letter Word
During this lecture, I will demonstrate how applique can be fun and rewarding. I will talk a little about the applique process and give you some tips for your own stitching. I have a suitcase of my own creations that I will share that includes my very first quilt. I will share with you how I began my quilting adventure and fell in love with applique.
Carol’s Creations in Quilted Clothing
For this lecture, I will share my story of how I started making quilted clothing with pieces I have sewn. I will bring the actual pieces of clothing for the guild to see and maybe even model if you like. I will talk about the process of design and construction of the clothing and about people who have influenced me along the way.

DAISY WREATH-An Introduction to Needleturn Applique Workshop
You too can learn needleturn applique! Whether you are an expert quilter or a beginner, this is the class for you. You will learn and gain confidence in stitching smooth shapes around freezer paper templates. I will give you fun tips during class to put your own creativity into your stitching. All your supplies can easily be found in your sewing room, except maybe the freezer paper. All sewing is done by hand.

Fluttering Florals
In this workshop, choose a diamond or circular design to create your own butterfly garden. There are no small appliques to stitch down. Instead, groups of flowers, butterflies and other motifs are cut from a printed fabric. Using the motif outline as a guide, the motifs are sewn onto a background using a simple hand stitch. This is the perfect workshop to introduce you to the Broderie Perse applique technique. All Hand Sewing.
Workshop is a 3-hour class.
Roses All Tied Up!
Have fun creating your own colorful bouquet of flowers as you learn to make these fancy Ruched Roses. You can choose to use one fabric for all three roses or add variation by using two different fabrics for the center and for the petals. You will gain confidence in the Needleturn Technique as you use freezer paper to stitch smoothly around your leaves and bow to tie up your bouquet. All sewing done by hand.
