Ode to BAS

This quilt should look familiar.  It is one of my favorites and has inspired some of my hand applique classes.

It was first shown at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show in Hampton, Virginia as part of an invitational show for members of Baltimore Applique Society.

I created this quilt as a tribute to Baltimore Applique Society as Lee and I were moving from Maryland to South Carolina.

The swag of flowers as well as the Eagle Block was reproduced from a quilt, The City Springs Commemorative Quilt, made by BAS members for the benefit of the Maryland Historical Society.

It is hand appliqued and hand quilted.  It contains 100% cotton fabrics as well as some silks.  I used Wool Batting because wool does not crease as much when a quilt is folded.
