Traveling Japanese Hapi Jacket

I love making garments! But, I must be in the mood.

I enjoy using Folkwear Patterns because they have good lines and I can easily turn them into quilted garments.  This Hapi Jacket is usually sewn with lighter fabric that drapes well.  However, I had this brainstorm and this is what happened

This Traveling Japanese Hapi Jacket was created from a collection of 100% cotton fabrics that I have acquired during many traveling adventures.  The fabrics came from Washington DC, Colorado, Alaska and as far away as Australia.  The lining of the garment represents the Northern Lights of Alaska!

A variety of threads was used to show off the crazy quilting:  YLI candle flame polished poly and YLI machine quilting thread, Madiera Polyneon and Superior Rainbow Variegated Thread.

A big “thank you” goes out to Chelsey Ashford Photography in Greenville, SC, for a fun photo shoot!
