Day 4: Chelatna Lake, Alaska, a small wallhanging 2018, Greenville, SC
In 2017 Lee and I visited Chelatna Lake AK. The only way to get to the Lodge is to fly in. Chelatna Lake borders Denali National Park. This small quilt is a composite of several pictures I took during our visit.
If you look closely, you can see the sharp point of Dogtooth Peak in the distance. As we arrived, our son Zach, and his climbing partner Travis, had just completed a ‘first ascent” ever to this peak. Matt, his friend who owns the lodge, flew over in his plane and took a picture of Zach and his climbing buddy. That visit will always be a favorite memory captured in this quilt!
Included in this description is also the photo that Zach took of Travis, as Matt was flying over.
